At AOCS, we understand the power of connections. Our networking and social events are carefully curated to bring together an inspired scientific community of industry experts, innovators, and thought leaders.

Whether you're a seasoned expert or just starting your journey, the chance to network with like-minded individuals and engage in meaningful discussions is invaluable.

Events are open to all meeting registrants. Please note that some events require sign up as part of registration and fees may apply.



AOCS Division and Section Events

Meet colleagues with similar scientific and technological interests, discover opportunities to collaborate, or find your next career opportunity by attending one of these events. Divisions and Sections develop AOCS programming, fund student awards and travel grants, and offer numerous leadership opportunities.

This year, all 10 AOCS Divisions and the Canadian Section will host events. You can sign up for these ticketed events while completing your registration.

Receptions

All receptions are included in the price of registration.

Newcomers Reception | Sunday | 3–4 p.m.

The Newcomers Reception welcomes all attendees who are new to the annual meeting and the AOCS community! Connect with seasoned AOCS members – including current and past Governing Board Members, leaders from the AOCS Member Divisions and Sections, as well as current and past Society award winners.

Welcome Reception | Sunday | 5:30–7 p.m.

Step into a world of possibilities as we kick off this year's meeting. Connect with other attendees in the Expo Hall and enjoy complimentary appetizers and beverages. 

Common Interest Group Networking Reception* | Sunday | 7–8 p.m.

Each of AOCS’ three Common Interest Groups—Student, Early Career, and Professional Educator—will join together to host an eveneing reception. Connect with fellow attendees at similar career stages to discuss trends, overcome challenges, and share your knowledge and insights. All attendees are welcome!

Networking Receptions | Monday and Tuesday | 5–6 p.m.

Enjoy light hors d'oeuvres and drinks as you meet with other attendees and exhibitors in the Expo Hall.

The tour includes a stop at the Mont-Royal Kondiaronk Belvedere for a panoramic view of the city, a walking tour of Old Montreal, and a tasting of a local culinary treat that embodies the essence of this vibrant city.

Kick off day three of the meeting with a yoga class! Relax and center yourself before another day of learning. Towels and yoga mats will be provided, or you are welcome to bring your yoga mat from home. Space is limited.

Saint-Hyacinthe Research and Development Centre Tour | US $49

Join fellow colleagues for a tour the unparalleled Saint-Hyacinthe Research and Development Centre, the largest food and food processing research and development center in Canada!

The Saint-Hyacinthe RDC is one of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's (AAFC) network of 20 research and development centres and specializes in processing, quality, food safety, and bio-ingredients. Round-trip motorcoach transportation between the Palais des congrès de Montréal and Saint-Hyacinthe Research and Development Centre is included.

Grab-and-Go Expo Lunch

Enjoy a quick and convenient lunch in the exhibit hall. Fuel up before an afternoon of learning, and spend some time networking with exhibitors and other meeting attendees. Please note lunches require a $39 fee and advance registration.

Corporate Member Lounge

All employees of our valued AOCS Corporate Members are welcome to enjoy the lounge which features morning coffee service, device charging stations, and comfortable spaces for conversations.
