Get recognized for your research

Passionate students like you are bringing creative solutions to global problems. At AOCS, we know finding a footing for your research can be hard.

Present at the Sustainable Protein Forum, co-located with the AOCS annual meeting, to connect with a global community of thought leaders and industry experts – giving you the tools to move your research forward and launch your career.

This year's student poster competition will take place in-person in Montreal. All students who submit an accepted poster abstract and attend the Sustainable Protein Forum will be eligible for the competition. Presenters must be a student at the time of the abstract’s submission.

The Call for Papers closed January 12. Have questions about your submission or the student competition? Contact Steph Adams at steph.adams@aocs.org.

How the competition works

Any student who submits a poster abstract accepted to the program is eligible to participate in-person in Montreal. AOCS will assign timeslots for each author to meet with judges and answer any questions about their poster.

The Sustainable Protein Forum, along with all 10 AOCS Divisions, will sponsor competitions. Judges will be poster session chairs from the respective categories. Judges will choose first and second place winners based on a common rubric.

All posters are also eligible for an "audience favorite" in each category, which is selected by meeting attendees.

Prizes for Sustainable Protein Forum student posters

Second place - $200, an AOCS membership and a certificate

Audience favorite - $100, an AOCS membership and a certificate

What's the difference between the Sustainable Protein Forum and AOCS Protein and Co-products Division?

The Protein and Co-products Division poster session is tailored for a technical and applied focus, while the Sustainable Protein Forum poster session offers a broader, interdisciplinary perspective on sustainable proteins and their impact on food production systems.
